Our Company


The principals of Cape Hope have been developing property on Grand Bahama Island for the past 14 years. Through sister companies, Cape Hope has developed the Pelican Bay Hotel, Lucayan Marina Village (now Grand Bahama Yacht Club) and the Ferry House Restaurant. All properties have been created, built, owned and operated by Cape Hope’s management team.

Jim Goodrum, President and Chairman

Mr. Goodrum serves as President and Chairman for Cape Hope Investments, Ltd., where he oversees all aspects of the company’s operations. Mr. Goodrum moved to The Bahamas from Dallas, Texas, where he was a management consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Axiom Information Consulting. In his previous work, Mr. Goodrum assisted in developing and implementing strategic plans for executive management in Fortune 1000 companies. Mr. Goodrum holds a B.B.A. from Texas Tech University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
 

Gitte Goodrum, Vice President, Director

Mrs. Goodrum is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of corporate and financial records. She moved to Grand Bahama with her husband, Jim, from Dallas where she worked as in house counsel to public and private companies, including real estate concerns. Mrs. Goodrum earned an M.B.A. and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University. Ms. Goodrum is a member of the Texas and California Bar Associations.
 
 

Erik Christiansen, Director

A native of Denmark, Mr. Christiansen "retired" to Grand Bahama after a career as a highly successful European real estate investor. Throughout his career, Mr. Christiansen held executive positions in various real estate investment and management firms. Before relocating to Grand Bahama, he created Compagnie Financière du Benelux in Brussels, a privately held group managing assets of more than $1.5 billion. 

After moving to Grand Bahama, Mr. Christiansen became unable to rest on the sidelines as signs of economic resurgence and opportunity became clear for The Bahamas. He created the Lucayan Marina Village, Pelican Bay Hotel and the Ferry House Restaurant. Mr. Christiansen was educated as a mathematician and structural engineer.
